In honor of Halloween, I'm going to be sharing some spooky treasuries with you guys this month! (I told you, I'm Buddy the Halloween Elf.)

Oh, hey. It's me.
Oh, hello. I didn't see you there. Or, maybe more to the point, you didn't see me? Because you haven't seen me, for uh, about two months now. Sorry about that.
Life got kind of crazy for a bit. I quit my job substitute teaching, and moved about 450 miles north (now I'm only 280 miles away from "home"), and then had to do all of the things that come with moving to a new state and buying a new house. Between figuring out car inspection laws in a new state, getting all of the small things that needed to be fixed done, starting to look for a job, AND learn my way around a place... I sort of forgot how to blog?
I HAVE still been posting regularly on youtube, which you can check out if you're interested, but I miss this blogging bit too, so I'm going to try to get back into that. I don't know how many of my old regular features will be here, though.
I'm definitely going to resume book reviews & posting my craft tutorials. I probably won't be doing the Monday Questions, because honestly I stopped enjoying it. I'm hoping to be able to commit to treasury posts again because I love finding new things on Etsy & sharing them. I also want to get back into the reason I started blogging: posting about politics & the goings on in my life. I don't know how that'll go, but I'm surely going to make an effort.
I'm also going to start crossposting my wonderly blog posts here, as well.
No promises guys, but I'm trying to get back into this.

Treasury Tuesday 5.14.13: Buttons!
Happy Tuesday! This week my treasury is all about BUTTONS! I absolutely love them. I have a button collection that I love to add to, and I'm always looking for both new and old buttons.
And don't get me wrong- you can totally find some really awesome buttons for you to use on etsy. This week, however, I'm showing off some really cool finished projects that utilize buttons. There's some jewerly, some picture frames, some hairbows- just really cutesy things with some awesomely colored buttons in them.

Treasury Tuesday 4.30.13: Mellow Yellow
Spring! It's starting to be spring-like! And I'm really excited about that. So excited, that I have a super-spring-like treasury today, featuring my favorite spring color, a pretty pale-ish mellow yellow.
I really love yellow as a spring color because you can pair it with a lot of things and it's just so light and airy. I found a bunch of really nice jewellery and light scarves and that sort of thing, which you can just go on to checking out :D

Tuesday Treasury 4.16.13
Welcome to this week’s featured treasury! This week, I’m showcasing my favorite of all the typographical wonders- the ampersand. Also known as “the and sign,” or “how the heck do I draw that?,” the ampersand is a thing of beauty in almost every font, and also the name of my lovely kitten.

Monday Questions 3.25.13
Happy Monday, guys! I'm going to be honest, I'm a little anxious for this week. I'm going to be working at the local JCC during the Spring Break camp that they run.As you're reading this, I'm already currently there. (Spoiler alert: I occasionally queue these up over the weekend. Sorry.) So I'm angsting pretty hard right now, but probably by the time you read this, I'm having fun doing camp stuff with kids. Hopefully!
Other than that, the past week has been fairly uneventful. With the exception of my latest purchase (see video here), nothing really happened of note. I also put a bunch of new stuff up on etsy, so I suppose you could check that out, too!
aaaaanyway, here's this week's Q's for me to A:

How To: Make a Ribbon Bow
Hey guys! I’m back again with another video for you! I’m definitely much happier with how this one came out (even though it’s still an iPad video- stick with me, I’ll get there.)
Anyway, I’m obsessed with making these quick and easy ribbon bows, and then putting either pins or hairclips on them.
Here's the tutorial:

New Updates to Technicolor Moments
Hey guys! So as you may have seen if you follow me around the internet, I am currently working to improve the branding across Technicolor Moments, and that includes integrating this blog with the etsy site. And because I'm in favor of business transparency and whatnot, I figured I'd make a quick post of all of the changes I made today. The first/biggest change, is that technicolormoments.com no longer links directly to my etsy shop, but instead to a blog post here featuring the EtsyMini. From there you can click directly through to the post for items, or continue on to the next page of the shop. Other backdated posts include an about me page, and a custom orders page.
Finally, I've updated the layout of this blog to match my current etsy design, so that they both now match my business cards and logo, which you can see at the top of this post. There's also a new navigation bar through which you can follow me all across this blog, and the rest of the internet. There's also a quick email link for questions and custom orders.
I think that's it! I'm having so much fun with this overhauled redesign, and I hope that you guys like it! Let me know what you think.
PS: New video tutorial coming Friday!

My First Vlog! (How To Make a Fall Wreath)
As I’m sure you guys are aware, I still feel like I need to redeem myself for that Halloween Wreath. Let’s be real, I’m better than that. So, I decided the only way to do that was with another wreath, and holy moly do I love this one! I made a brief tutorial for it, but not only that, it’s –gasp- a video?
Yeah. I filmed myself crafting. And I’m going to show it to you, internet. But first, a few quick things. 1. This is my first time vlogging, EVER. I watch a LOT of youtube, but this is my first time doing it. It’s rough, guys, but I’m hoping to improve. 2. I recorded this on my iPad. I’m planning to get a new camera on Black Friday/Cyber Monday, both for shooting pictures for Etsy and also for vlogging, but for now, iPad.
Okay, so here we go.

It’s time for there to be a WINNER!
Alright so as you guys all know, I hosted a giveaway on my facebook through all of October, and as it is now October 31st, (HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!) it is time for me to announce the winner!

Technicolor Moments Giveaway!
I have some exciting news- for you! I'm hosting an October giveaway from my etsy shop via my facebook page.
I had set up the contest to be that if I hit 100 followers by Halloween, I would give one randomly drawn person any $10 item from my store, or a $10 credit for a larger item. Well, I hit 100 way earlier than I expected, so now it's a sure thing that one person will be winning a Technicolor Moments item! I've added a second incentive that I'll give a second prize- the same thing, just to a second person- if the page hits 200 likes. So take a quick minute and go like the page!
The second step is you must leave a comment on any item in the CURRENT STOCK album to tell me what you'd like to win. You can always change your mind when you win/if I add new things you like more if I pull your name, but I'm using those comments to draw the list of entrants, so make sure you've commented if you want to win!
Thanks for helping me out with this dream o' mine :)

In preparation for an interview: My Biggest Weakness.
Alright, confession time, guys. I like a lot of things, but I really don't like anything a lot. Which is by far the hardest part of this blog.Part of me is like, "totally, a craft blog is what you want," while another part of me is like, "uh no, books!" And then there's this other part of me that just wants a place to rant about politics. None of those things really make a cohesive blog, but it's me, you know?
Anyway, turns out, there's another part of me I've been suppressing. Alright. Hi, my name is Jenn, and I am a makeup addict. And when I buy new things, I'm excited, and want to show it off, and talk to people about colors and formulas and lasting-ness, and. Well, I'm sorry, but I'm adding another layer to this mess of a blog. Let's talk makeup.
I went to Ulta & Walgreens this week/last week, and picked up a few things that I really like.
The two NYX lipsticks are in LSS576: Frosted Flakes and LSS597: Margarita. I. LOVE. MARGARITA. It's such a great bright pink, and it's a smooth, creamy consistency, and it's just really perfect in every way, except that it doesn't stay on as well as I'd like. I have to reapply a few times when I wear it, but the color is so great, it's worth having to reapply after my coffee. The frosted flake has the same great consistency but I only sort of like the color. I was hoping for a really great nude, but it doesn't match me too well. However, with a light gloss on the top, it's pretty wonderful as well. I love these NYX lipsticks, and I intend to buy more.
The last thing there is the Maybelline Gel Liner which, honestly, I'm still iffy on. This, unfortunately, is more on my own incompetence than the product though. I posted in the Reddit Makeup Addiction community asking for tips on liquid eyeliner (which I suck at, holy moly) and a bunch of ladies there suggested I start with the gel liner instead of the liquid. So, I bought this one and... eh? It's a little easier than the liquid, but I've only really used it once, so I'm going to try it a few more times before I make a call. It did stay on for a really long time though, despite the fact that it didn't look great.

Next is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. The orangey one is 040: Rendezvous and it is my favorite thing to ever be on my lips. It has all of the pros of the NYX colors, with some serious staying power. Yesterday, that stuff- just on a naked lip, no base or anything- lasted through breakfast, a 2 mile run, a coffee, a nap, and lunch before I took it off to play with some other colors. I am obsessed. The paler pink(001: Honey) isn't what I expected, really. I was hoping it would match the wrapping, but it ends up being closer to the nude I was looking for, so all in all, win win, right? Again, this stuff stays on forever. I want all of these.
The last tube, despite my husband's confusion, is the Essence CoverStick in 01: Matte Sand. I heard about this through the youtuber Miss Glamarazzi, who used it in a back to school tutorial, and since she has similar coloring/dark circles to mine, I decided to give it a shot. Um, perfect. I use this right under my eyes, and then put some BB Cream or tinted moisterizer over it, and covers my terrible circles. I'm 100% satisfied with this.
| In order: Frosted Flakes, Margarita, Honey, Rendezvous, Matte Sand. |

So yeah, there we go. Makeup, apparently. I think coming up soon will be a craft/sewing tutorial, or at least that's my plan. Until then-

Crafty Crafty Crafty!
I have been on a sewing BINGE lately. Like, it's literally all I've been doing. First, I made this makeup bag thing:
I've sort of started developing this new makeup obsession, and my current collection is now the cosmetic bags deep (two of which I made), and this is the newest style bag I've been working on. It's zippered and flat bottomed and super cute. Also, owls! It's fully lined and all that. If it looks familiar, it's because I had it in my post last week, but decided to delete it there and move it over to this post with more crafts.
Then, I decided I needed a new purse/every day bag because I've been using the same one for a really long time, and I get bored. So I decided I wanted to go for a messenger bag because I haven't used one in a while and it's one of my favorite bags to make. Honestly, I can churn one out in less than half an hour, so I love doing them. This fabric is amazing- I love the autumn-y colors with the red and gold and grey, and it's a home dec fabric so it has some weight to it. And, I made another one of my flat bottom zippered bags but not for makeup. I have like, hand lotion and advil in it. The bag contains my first ever in-lining pocket, which I'm disgustingly proud of, ha.
The last new craft isn't sewing, but actually just a cheap tip/great usage for some scrap fabric. So, I have this super cheap clear phone case that I bought at Radio Shack for like 5 bucks, and so far it's actually been holding up decently. I drop my phone a LOT, and it's been all good. But like. It's boring? Anyway, I was sewing up a storm, and found this teensy tiny scrap of one of my favoritest fabrics and had a lightning bolt of inspiration hit me. So I traced my phone and lined it with PACKING TAPE. and ta-da: cuteness.
Finally, I made one more thing and I'd love to share it with you. I've taken all of my sewing projects lately and opened up an Etsy shop. It's right here, and so far it just has a couple of makeup bags and wallets, plus one decently sized tote bag. I'm going to Philly in two weeks and have a TON of fabric there that I'm planning to bring back and make some more stuff out of, and if memory serves I have a whole bunch of great fabrics from when my old JoAnns was closing - including some nice silks and stuff like that- so check back and see if there isn't anything there for you now :)
