How To Make a Retro Necklace Using Shrink Plastic

Hey guys! I have a serious throwback craft for you today. This craft is perfect for this time of year for two reasons: one, it can be done with kids if you have any of those to entertain or if you’re working at a summer camp, and two, it’s the easiest way to make jewelry from ANY fandom, making it perfect for convention season.

So, if you’re drawing with children, or if you need a new Doctor Who necklace for VidCon, here’s what you need:

How To Turn “Mom Jeans” Into High Waisted Shorts

Hi guys! So this probably won’t come as a surprise to anyone, but I pretty much live in a uniform of jeans and graphic tees from teefury. I know that a lot of creative people tend to also be good at having creative wardrobes, but I just… don’t? I like to stick with my uniform. I’ve finally found an exception to this, though, and that’s high waisted shorts. I really like them, but I have a hard time paying a ton of money for a little bit of fabric, which tends to be how things go in general for shorts. (Also bathing suits, but that’s a different story…)

Today, I’m going to show you how to turn $3 “mom jeans” from Goodwill into cute, and stylish high waisted shorts. It’s really easy, completely no-sew, and basically only requires cutting and folding.

Oh, hey. It's me.

Oh, hello. I didn't see you there. Or, maybe more to the point, you didn't see me? Because you haven't seen me, for uh, about two months now. Sorry about that.

Life got kind of crazy for a bit. I quit my job substitute teaching, and moved about 450 miles north (now I'm only 280 miles away from "home"), and then had to do all of the things that come with moving to a new state and buying a new house. Between figuring out car inspection laws in a new state, getting all of the small things that needed to be fixed done, starting to look for a job, AND learn my way around a place... I sort of forgot how to blog?

I HAVE still been posting regularly on youtube, which you can check out if you're interested, but I miss this blogging bit too, so I'm going to try to get back into that. I don't know how many of my old regular features will be here, though.

I'm definitely going to resume book reviews & posting my craft tutorials. I probably won't be doing the Monday Questions, because honestly I stopped enjoying it. I'm hoping to be able to commit to treasury posts again because I love finding new things on Etsy & sharing them. I also want to get back into the reason I started blogging: posting about politics & the goings on in my life. I don't know how that'll go, but I'm surely going to make an effort.

I'm also going to start crossposting my wonderly blog posts here, as well.

No promises guys, but I'm trying to get back into this.
PS: I'm still doing the etsy thing, too, so go check out Technicolor Moments on etsy & while you're there, use the code TECHNICOLORBLOG for 10% off :)
