Summary from Goodreads:
When teenage movie star Graham Larkin accidentally sends small town girl Ellie O'Neill an email about his pet pig, the two seventeen-year-olds strike up a witty and unforgettable correspondence, discussing everything under the sun, except for their names or backgrounds.
Then Graham finds out that Ellie's Maine hometown is the perfect location for his latest film, and he decides to take their relationship from online to in-person. But can a star as famous as Graham really start a relationship with an ordinary girl like Ellie? And why does Ellie want to avoid the media's spotlight at all costs?
What I thought: You know how when you pick up a book by Stephanie Perkins, you know that it’s not going to be anything absolutely groundbreaking, but you also know it’s going to be a really good story? That’s how Jennifer E. Smith is, too. You can routinely expect a cute, happy ending, love story. The writing, however, will NOT disappoint.
I just genuinely love the style of writing, the conversational flow, and the overall realness of this story. Sure, not everyone is going to have their celebrity crush fall in love with them, but we all can hope, right?
As an aside, I adore this cover.
Read this if: you are a hopeless romantic, if you’re a fan of Stephanie Perkins, or if you want a feel-good story.
Out of 5: 4/5
This is book 34/120 for 2013
