Blogger’s Block!

I think I'm having bloggers block, guys.

I miss all of the posts that I did back in Blogrurary, but now it's like I can't even come up with anything to post! I'm not really having vlogger block, or really crafter's block, but I'm just having a hard time coming up with blog ideas.

I've been toying with the idea of maybe coming up with more weekly or bi-weekly ideas, similar to the Monday Questions I've been doing- potentially maybe Treasury Thursdays, where I put together an Etsy treasury? Not sure.

I mean, originally, this was a place of ranting. I could always go back to that! Okay, you know what. In no particular order, here are the top five things that I want to rant about today.

Monday Questions 3.25.13

Happy Monday, guys! I'm going to be honest, I'm a little anxious for this week. I'm going to be working at the local JCC during the Spring Break camp that they run.

As you're reading this, I'm already currently there. (Spoiler alert: I occasionally queue these up over the weekend. Sorry.) So I'm angsting pretty hard right now, but probably by the time you read this, I'm having fun doing camp stuff with kids. Hopefully!

Other than that, the past week has been fairly uneventful. With the exception of my latest purchase (see video here), nothing really happened of note. I also put a bunch of new stuff up on etsy, so I suppose you could check that out, too!

March 2013 Playlist

Hey guys! I’m back with another playlist for you!

I’ll admit, this is a weird one for me. Somehow I spent this whole month listening to a weird mix of indie folk music, and uber pop music. I know. It’s been a weird month.

Monday Questions 3.18.13

Happy Monday, guys! As you may know, I’m a little jealous of my friends who still live the college life. Not the drinking-partying-crazy college life, but the acquiring knowledge-classroom setting-spring break week college life.

Sooo, I took a spring break last week. I did some crafty things, I played a lot of video games, I baked and ate a ton of junk food, I online shopped… basically, I was a college student on break.

So that’s my excuse for this being late. I was being a college student. But now I’m back to work. I taught today, and I have an upcoming “job” at a Spring Break Camp at the local JCC AND I also have a long term sub job from late-April through the end of the year. So that’s cool. I’m back to being an adult. Yeah.

So here’s this weeks Qs to be A’d

Hand Painted Typography Trio (or, The Difference Between Artsy & Crafty.)

We need to take a minute and talk about something, before we start. Can we all agree that there is a distinct difference between artsy and crafty? The way I see it, the creative world is broken into two types of people. There’s the craft type, who do things like sew, and crochet, and maybe dabble in a bit of jewelry and making THINGS, and then there’s the artsy type- those who can draw and paint and make ART. I don’t think that either of these two is better than the other, and honestly think they can’t exist without each other.

I am, with out a doubt, the crafty type.

Which is why I am SO ridiculously, undeservingly proud of these.

Monday Questions 3.11.13

Happy Monday! I’m going to be honest, I’m kinda tired today. But I didn’t forget to post! and that is all that matters, right? I’m playing the part of a college student this week and taking a spring break. Because adult life SHOULD have a spring break, too.

Basically that means ukulele playing, Thin Mints, swing dancing & a ton of video games. Which, in all honesty, sounds way better than any spring break I actually had in college…

Okay, on to the questions!

Wonderly!

I don’t know if you noticed, but last week, I made a comment that I might have some big news coming up, and I’m ready to tell you guys now!

Actually, before I start, I don’t know if I’ve properly fangirled over Wonderly yet! If you haven’t heard of Wonderly, it’s a place for female creators of all sorts (but mostly youtubers). It’s where females can collaborate, meet, and just all around celebrate each other. A TON of my favorite ladies on youtube (Karen Kavett, Kristina Horner, Laina, and plenty others) are part of the group. Basically, it’s everyone that I look up to as a creator.

All of that aside, here’s why I’m telling you all of this!

I was the Wonderly Featured Fan of the Week a couple of weeks ago, and then, just the other evening, I got a lovely email from Megan, who is the Wonderly person at Big Frame, asking me if I wanted to be a regular contributor to the blog, doing DIY & craft posts. UM,YES?

[Review] The Madness Underneath; Maureen Johnson

Monday Questions 3.4.13

Sorry this is up late, guys! Normally, I would do these on Sunday night before bed as a way to wind down, but I had a bit of a crazy Sunday! I drove about five hours to Decatur, GA to meet Stephanie Perkins & Maureen Johnson, and didn’t get home until super late.
I’m going to have a video & picture dump post for that in a bit, but can I just fangirl for a sec? Not only are these two of the funniest women I’ve ever met, they are also both SO sweet and SO charming.

Topics of conversation ranged from finding bodies under hotel beds, to journals from high school/high school boyfriends. Also, Steph gave $5 to a girl she made a bet with, and MJ complained about the weather. I COMPLAIN ABOUT THE WEATHER. We’re soulmates.

The best part, honestly, was in the signing line, first when I gave MJ a poster of a Jack the Ripper headline and she squealed a bit, and also when Steph remembered me/my hairbows from YallFest. AHH, just such lovely women!
